Tie Dye Chic…

It can be an elementary school kid at camp look, or it can be a chic ready for a nice summer day look when done well.  Tie Dye.  People tend to love or hate this trend.  There are very few that are in the middle on it.  My guess?  Because it is a bold look that, also, is often labeled to certain people groups, which is dumb if you ask me.  If you like tie dye wear it – even if you are not the free spirit, hippie type.  This tie dye trend is not the 1960’s over-sized t-shirt with bright colors many of our parent probably wore, this is an updated chic take on the print.  I love when tie dye is paired with maxi dresses – the two trends work so well together.   The dress pictured above is actually two dresses paired together, but I am really wanting the top dress.  When I first saw it in Free People’s May look book I about died – it is perfect.  Tie dye does not have to just be in the form of long flowy dresses either – so if that is too much commitment for your liking try a scarf, top, or even some shoes.  Here are some other fun ways tie dye is being used to look chic…

So, how ever little or much you want to embrace this trend there is a way to make it work for you.  What do you say, do or don’t on the tie dye trend?

Happy Monday loves – hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Much love,

Time to Refresh…

It is a rainy weekend in Minneapolis, but I am okay with that because I am taking the weekend to refresh.  Yesterday was a relaxing and refreshing day shared with friends.  Today a lot of my friends are gone for a day retreat that I passed on to take time to stay in town and relax.  I am so excited to have time to just be and do whatever I want.  It may be raining, but I am not letting that stop me…

I’m all bout feeling the rain and allow it to help refresh me.  Hope you are having a refreshing weekend.  What are you doing this weekend?  What do you do to refresh?

Much love,

Five Loves…

The feather hair extension trend.  I cannot get enough of it and I am dying to have some in my own curly dark brown hair…just not so sure how that would go over at the office.  I may push the limits…I mean it is summertime, and I simply love them.  Fun colors or neutrals – I am a fan.

Attic rooms.  There is something about the angled ceilings that I adore.  I used to live in an attic room and after seeing all of these beautiful pics, it has left me missing mine.

I love kombucha.  I love homemade kombucha even more because it is fun and easy to make – plus a lot easier on the pocket book.

My new TOMS which should be arriving this afternoon – so excited.  I loved my pink sparkle ones so much, I just had to get another pair.  I mean they are for a good cost…

Fresh lilacs in full bloom.  They are beautiful – but even more they smell like heaven.  The other day I was driving home with my window down and all of a sudden the breeze blew in and I smelt them for the first time this spring.  Nothing else mattered in that moment – it was so peaceful.

What are your favorite things about springtime finally arriving?

Much love,

Melting…

Who says fashion is limited to adults?  Certainly not this little girl, or really handfuls of other children that are in their beautiful designer clothes looking stunning.  It melts my heart.  They are so stinkin cute.  It also helps that the photographer is amazing.  Though it does leave me in an inner turmoil – would I ever dress my children like this?  I mean seriously, they are so cute and look amazing – but do I want to teach my little girl (for the record I do not have any little children…this is all hypothetical…there are a few other things that would need to come in place first…) that life is all about beautiful clothes and looking cute – and create a little fashionista? I have no idea if that is what this little girl thinks, but I cannot help but wonder.  Either way, these pictures are so cute I just had to share…I mean we can be inspired by little bits and their fashion – as really it pulls from the same trends, just only on a smaller and more modest scale…

I mean seriously – I would love for anyone of these pictures to be a foreshadow of my little bits (that I am not totally sold on wanting to have, but seeing these cuties make me see oh I do…one day…far far away still…).  How do you feel about dressing your children if you have them, or future children you may have one day, in designer clothes?  When will you introduce your daughter or son into fashion?  Or will you just let the little one discover it on his or her own? I ask because I really am torn…please do share your wisdom, loves!

Bon Iver is Back…

On June 21st (or 20th if you are in the UK) Bon Iver will release the long awaited and anticipated self titled album, which is the follow-up to the 2007 For Emma, Forever Ago.  The first single off of the album, Calgary, was just released the other day.  It is so good and has left me wanting more – so excited for this album.  Hope you enjoy the track as much as I am this fine midweek.

Are you listening to any good music these days?  Please do share, loves!

Fedora…

I love hats.  All times of the year.  And there are so many fun styles to wear, the options are really endless.  One trend that I am loving for this summer is Fedoras for the ladies.  It has so often been an accessory limited to the men, but not this year – they are all about sharing the love and men and women alike can embrace this fun trend.  I also love that you can wear a straw Fedora for a more casual look, or you can get a more firm one for a classy night out.  You can’t help but feel sassy, mysterious and fun while wearing this fun accessory – I think it is due to the coyness of being able to hide slightly behind the brim.  Now my only problem is…which one to get?!  There are so many that I like.  I already have my wool Fedora for the colder months, but now it is time to pick the perfect one for the summer – because it is finally starting to warm up around here.

So what style will it be for you?  Guys and gals – are you hat wearers?  How do you feel about hats on the opposite sex?  Have a favorite style for him or her?

Much love,

Girl Crush…

She is a stunning model who knows style.  I am a huge fan because she has an edge to her that I love.  This Denmark native, Freja Beha Erichsen, is best known for her androgynous look and tattoos. She’s been featured on the cover of W and Vogue magazines. And to make her even cooler, she has fashion items from Jill Stuart, Chloé, and Alexander Wang named after her.

Who is inspiring you today?  Who are you loving?

Much love,

Pretty Pleats…

A fun flirty feminine trend this spring.  Pleats.  They are every where in every color it seems.  I love the classic black to the light pastels to the bold colors – this trend works in whatever color is your favorite.  I think what makes me love them so much is the way they move.  Makes me want to dance and twirl where ever I am.

Do you feel pretty in pleats?  What is your favorite color?

Hope you are having a good start to your week, loves.

Much love,

B
