Okay, so the actually anniversary was ten days ago but I totally spaced it. Crazy how time flies by these days! I’m so thankful that three years ago I sat down in that coffee shop and started this little place to share my love of fashion and random thoughts on life, and even more that you amazing lovies have stuck with me and joined in on the fun. I started it for me – for me to have that daily creative outlet. However, I continue to do it because I love all the people I have met through here – I seriously had no idea how fun the blog world was until I dove in.
Thanks for joining in on the adventure with me – which brings me to my next item. I am headed to Thailand for two and a half weeks. While I am gone, I really would love to have the time off, but I do not want the blog to go unforgotten. SO, that is where you come in, lovies! Want to do a guest post for B. in the Know?!! Pretty please! Email me at bintheknow.blog[at]gmail.com and we shall chat. I would love for each blogger to write about what inspires them, what they are loving in the fashion world right now, or basically anything in in the Fashion & Lifestyle realm that gets you excited! Let me know and we will get it set up. I would love to have everything teed up and be ready to go by Friday, September 27th – will you please help me make that happen?
What drew you to the blogsphere? What keeps you coming back day after day?
One of the most fun things I have been enjoying as of late is getting to have date nights with the bou and another couple that one of us is friends with (though, let’s be honest – he has been a way big sport and goes on double dates with my friends far more than we do with his friends). It is fun to get to hang out with friends like this – plus, it is another fabulous excuse to get a little dolled up for a week night and take a stroll out on the town. Minneapolis certainly has a growing foodie world and I love every excuse to explore it more and more, so why not bring along some friends to indulge in the fun with. Tonight we will be heading to Marvel and The Bachelor Farmer with two of my best friends from college who happened to fall in love and get married. Eep! Now, I just need to pick out the perfect look…
What do you do for date nights (with your bou or the girlies)? Do you use it as an excuse to get dolled up?
Have I ever mentioned how much I love the Minneapolis music scene?!! Oh yea, that’s right, I have a few times. Well, here is another perfect example of why. On Saturday night, I went to a local brewery who has a tap room open at night, brings in a food truck, and has local music come and play. It is a fabulous place to hang out with friends – new and old. While I was there on Saturday, I had the pleasure of getting to hear this lovely lady for the first time, Cait Leary. She was giving away her free EP and I have already listened to it a couple times, so naturally I had to share her with you, lovies. She has some more music up on her BandCamp site and just released a new album last month. Go check her out and give her some love!!
Do you ever stumble upon random shows that end up being great?!
I love living two blocks away from the Farmer’s Market – all sorts of goodies for the soul and tummy. Seriously, my house smells divine from the fresh flowers this week.
Late night trips to my favorite little ice cream shop with my love. Never gets old. Love those sweet treats.
Love this whole look. The detailing on the back is so fabulous. And those wedges – I love the zipper up the back of the heel.
Can Tory Burch do anything wrong when it comes to designing?!! I think not. Another fabulous pair of heels – so adorable.
Girls’ Night came to a close this week for this season – I love these ladies and spending my Monday nights with them as we discover who is there for the right reasons on the journey of love to find their perfect honeymoon…if you watch The Bachelor/Bachelorette you get all the phrases…it’s a thing. Plus, I loved this seasons ending – so so sweet.
What are the sweet little things in your life you are loving today?
Tonight marks the closing of the latest season of ABC’s The Bachelorette. I always host girls’ night to watch – we gush over the drama, the men, the trips and of course the clothes. Even if a week seems to be boring – we at least always have some fabulous fashion to cheers to. Tonight the gals and I are actually going to a fun event here in Minneapolis for a live viewing of the finale together. I have no idea what is going to happen as I was left stunned, pissed, and hurt for Des last week – I am more excited to see the dress she will wear for the last Rose Ceremony and the shoes. The girl has good taste in shoes. So, even if she doesn’t find love – at least she has a fabulous new car (that is teal!) and some amazing new clothes.
Are you a Bachelor/Bachelorette fan? Will you be watching the finale tonight? What do you want to see happen?
Y’all – it has been awhile, but guess where I am headed this weekend?!! A wedding! Shocked?! I didn’t think so, because when I say awhile what I mean is about a month. So, for this wedding there is something a little different. I have a date, and not just any date but my boyfriend is my date! Yea, pretty big deal. So, what did that mean?! Shopping trip. I didn’t know what I wanted going in, which I find is sometimes the best approach. Rather, I go and get inspired. I found myself being drawn to bohemian feels, navajo prints and feathers. There are so many of options these days in those patterns and cuts that also have a slight teal or turquoise feel, so it makes sense that is what I landed on. I decided to go with the above dress – and I cannot wait to wear it. It is so lightweight and flowy, plus it has feathers printed on a teal fabric – love that. I want to make sure to accessorize it with the right earrings and rings, since the neck line looks better without a necklace. The other fun part about this wedding is that it is in a more rural location and I get to see a bunch of my sorority sisters – should be a fabulous time.
I LOVE live music. I LOVE The Mowgli’s. And when you put those two together and then mix in getting pulled up on stage to sing Timewith them, you get one extremely happy girl. And I got to share the moment with my bestie. It was pretty fabulous. The Mowgli’s are amazing musicians, but even more they are beautiful souls that promote peace and love – true hippies that I totally share a heart with. It is such a beautiful thing that they are doing as they share their gift with others. Go see them if you get a chance. You will NOT regret it. #BeAMowgli #IAmAMowgli
I keep seeing this style of shoe everywhere and they are so stinkin cute! I totally need a pair.
Ice cream in the summer is delicious, especially when from Pumphouse Creamery. My absolute favorite in Minneapolis. I got to share it with my new special friend last weekend and I think that made me love it that much more.
How fabulous is this dress?!! For a hot humid day – yes, please I was a simple flowy, lightweight little black dress. Adore.
I finally got a new bike with the help of a good friend. It is teal – pretty much perfect for me since that seems to be my color of the moment. I love it. And even more, I love that this picture is taken in what is right out my front door – I am so blessed to get to live in an amazing city that also has nature all over. I love the lakes. Couldn’t live without them.
What are some of your favorite little delights this week?
How cozy and chic does this pretty lady look all at the same time?! I adore her whole look.
I love purses and bags. I love social justice. So, when purchasing a bag, which is extremely cute I might add, will supply 100 school lunches for children in India, I’m naturally going to fall in love with it. Check our Rachel Roy’s partnership with FEEDhere. There are two colors, but I love this white one with the bright tassels.
Love this arm candy. All week I have been layering and layering the pieces on to turn my wrist in to a real party. I love mixing gold, fancier bracelets with some of my more hippie hemp bracelets. Makes for a fun look.
I love this photo so much. I wish that was me – so peaceful. I love rowing, so the thought of rowing to the middle of the lake and getting some peaceful alone time sounds delightful.
I love my sweet friend, Cassie and today is her birthday!! Happy birthday, C – love you lots!! Thankful for you – more than words can express.
How do you stay looking chic, but still comfortable in the heat and humidity?
Now, some people may be over the guys getting together, jamming out and singing with fabulous voices and energy – but me, not so much. In fact, I am still loving it because each group does find a way to add their own twist to it. Plus, if they have long hair and scruff to mix with their musical talents I am all ears…especially if my ears get to be at a live music happy hour event. The Wild Feathers are my new favorite and though sadly they will not be doing a show in Minneapolis anytime soon, they are doing a guest appearance at a Sun Soaker Thursday put on by Cities 97 on June 27th. Naturally, my girlfriends and I have turned this in to a full on event – it will be fabulous to have a mid-week catch up on the lake (hopefully with sun) and great live music. These guys have such a great sound, especially to rock out to on a hot summer afternoon! These American boys, who have been playing together since August 2010, bring together the best of rock, country, folk, and blues to make a sound of their own. So, if you are in the area, feel free to come join us at Maynard’s on June 27th – we will be there rain or shine!
How do you get your fix of live outdoor music in during the summer?
Oh how true it is – and as the little sister I love that. There has to be some perk to being picked on by this person for years, right?!! I love my sister and love that no matter how much shit she will ever give me, I always know she is for me and has my back. So, watch yourself, y’all.
