Five Loves…

Leaves changing colors – such a beautiful time of year.

Beautiful boots to stomp around the leaves in.

Amazing ice cream to eat as you play outside on a fall day – it is never too cold for ice cream!

A fun leopard print skirt to wear out on the town to close out September.

Amazing.  I cannot get over these shoes.  And I love that she is rocking them midday with a classic skinny – perfect.

Happy last day of September, loves!  Doing anything fun to close out the month?

Much love,

100 Shoes…

On Tuesday, I was over at one of my dear friend’s house for our weekly Rachel Zoe night.  We were chatting after the show about her most recent time in NYC this past weekend and the fact that my birthday was coming so soon.  So soon she decided we needed to start celebrating that moment, which meant I got to open my first birthday present for the year.  I was so excited!  A book – of shoes – from the Met – with Sarah Jessica Parker writing the introduction?!  I mean seriously, can we think of a better gift for me?!  I mean, since I already have the latest Chanel biography, which I received from another friend for Christmas last year.  It is perfect and I have been loving reading about all of these amazing shoes from history.

I love how SJP puts it, “…seeing them [shoes] in a book or museum lets us appreciate them as works of art with a place in culture and history, and also as mechanisms to elevate the style, stature, and status of women around the world.”

There are so many beautiful pairs – but I love this 1920’s pair.  Plus, I am still reading so I cannot pick out my favorite yet.  There are so many wonderful designers featured in the book.  It really is a great read, or a great coffee table book for your guests to flip through.

Do you like going to museums and reading books on the history of fashion?  What is your favorite fashion book or exhibit you have seen?

Keepin it Tight….

One of the best accessories to break out in fall is tights.  They come in every color under the sun and all sorts of fun patterns – the options are endless.  They add class to a look by adding another layer.  Yet, at the same time can add a punch of pop and fun.  Whether you wear those tights under shorts (still love that look), dress or cute little skirt (just please do not wear them as pants…that would not be good for anyone) they are wonderful.

Are you a fan of tights?  Do stick to classic black or mix it up with patterns and color?

Reserved…

Meet Sasha Pivovarova.  She is a famous top model around the world and there is no question why – she is stunning.  This current campaign for Reserved is breath taking.  I had to share it with you.  Honestly, looking at this shoot has made me feel a little bit better about this whole getting cold thing – because it reminded me of how amazing fall clothes truly are.

Seriously – stunning.  So, who is ready for fully embrace fall now?  Yes, I know – many of you have been ready for a long time, but I think it is completely okay that it has taken me this long.  I mean seriously, the first day of fall was only last Friday

Menswear, Not just for Men…

Every fall we break out jackets and add on the layers.  This fall, changing it up a little bit with a strong trend of menswear influence women’s fashion.  I love the structure to play with and add to the softer lines of our dresses.  Throwing a blazer over a dress adds dimension to a look that never fails to look classy and well put together.  And who says suspenders only need to be for the men – women can look good in them, too.

How do you feel about menswear for women?  Do you embrace this trend – or would you rather stick to the classic feminine look?

Zipped Up…

Well, loves, it is Saturday.  It was a full week filled with craziness and stress (my eye seriously would not stop twitching), but it ended on a great note with my project being certified – it is completely okay that you have no idea what I am talking about, just know that it is a huge weight off my shoulders and I couldn’t be happier.  Now, I get to enjoy time with friends and lots of yoga to ensure I get some me time.  In fact, this afternoon I am getting to travel down to south Minneapolis to Pumphouse to meet up with Chelsea of Zipped.  Couldn’t be more thrilled to have this pretty lady in our neck of the woods now!

What are you up to this weekend, loves?

Office Humor…

This makes me laugh so hard every time I see it.  Probably because people in my office use Comic Sans a little too freely…especially on information we push out to the whole company.  Ridiculous.

But enough about the office, I am busting out of this joint and you should, too!

Much love,

B
