That’s right, lovies, more weddings to start picking out the perfect attire for. I have had a couple weekends to explore the city and hang out with the bou doing what we want, but it is time to start putting on those fun summer dresses that allow you to tear up the dance floor and celebrate love. My biggest tension is always if I want to wear something that is fun and bright for summer, or do I want to wear a sexy little black dress. Thankfully, I have a few weddings coming up, so I may just go with both looks!
Y’all – it has been awhile, but guess where I am headed this weekend?!! A wedding! Shocked?! I didn’t think so, because when I say awhile what I mean is about a month. So, for this wedding there is something a little different. I have a date, and not just any date but my boyfriend is my date! Yea, pretty big deal. So, what did that mean?! Shopping trip. I didn’t know what I wanted going in, which I find is sometimes the best approach. Rather, I go and get inspired. I found myself being drawn to bohemian feels, navajo prints and feathers. There are so many of options these days in those patterns and cuts that also have a slight teal or turquoise feel, so it makes sense that is what I landed on. I decided to go with the above dress – and I cannot wait to wear it. It is so lightweight and flowy, plus it has feathers printed on a teal fabric – love that. I want to make sure to accessorize it with the right earrings and rings, since the neck line looks better without a necklace. The other fun part about this wedding is that it is in a more rural location and I get to see a bunch of my sorority sisters – should be a fabulous time.
This weekend one of my best friends is getting married and I couldn’t be more excited. I think it has helped to have a few weekends off. Last night we had a lovely, low key bachlorette party for her. Tonight, we have the rehearsal and tomorrow is the big day. Cannot wait. Plus, fall weddings are so pretty.
Does anyone else feel this way? Or is it just me – and probably because I sit in a room with a bunch of guys all day long, but seriously. At least tonight I am off to a bachlorette party for one of my best friends who is getting married on Sunday – so I think there is a strong chance we will be discussing other, more interesting things…
Do you do fantasy football? Have any good sports talking tips? Or do you just ignore the topic?
Hello, lovies! Today is solely dedicated to recovering from a long, but extremely fun week. Being in a wedding with a bridal party that primarily is coming from out of town means the week before the wedding is filled with festivities – granted, a lot of pampering festivities, so this little lady is not complaining…BUT, now I am taking a little me time. Then, this evening I will be headed to the pool party of the summer with my yogis, which will really be adding to my recovery! So, on that…I am off – peace, loves!
I still cannot get enough of this phrase. It may have to do with the fact every time I say it around one of my good friends she busts out laughing and then I start laughing – so, the phrase ultimately brings great joy. I also thought it would be fitting for today since tonight is going to be cray, and I cannot wait! So, I better be off…wedding starts in just a couple hours!
What’s been cray in your life as of late – in a good way?!
Love the simplicity of her make-up. It is a perfect inspiration for the wedding make-up we will be having done today to make us pretty for the camera and wedding this evening. (Don’t worry loves, not my wedding – you would know if it was my wedding…and I probably would not be posting!)
I love this print. AND I love my city. That’s right, loves, my heart has completely been won over by this diverse and magical city. There is a part that resonates with every part of my being…and that makes me happy to call it home.
I love a good hot summer and taking time to lay out and soak up some rays. What little lady doesn’t love a little sun kissed look?!
Natalie Neal is truly talented with a camera. I love this rainbow she captured. I also love rainbows. They still blow my mind every time I see one.
I love when men get dressed up and tonight I will get to see all sorts of it at the wedding. I especially love a good skinny tie on a man. Makes me weak in the knees.
What are some of your favorite summer wedding looks?
Today is the day before the big day. It is such a fun night, I think…the bridal party gets to hang out and laugh with the bride and groom before all the commotion begins. And this time around, the ladies just get to have fun night after fun night – loving it! The only sad part is, I have to be at work today, so I will be rushing out of the office and straight to the rehearsal, so today has to be a look that is office appropriate and still fun enough for a rehearsal dinner. There is not even time for a wardrobe change in the car…but I think I can make it work. I think I will wear different shoes and a blazer during the day, and then at the red lights slip into some more fun shoes that also give me a little more height to make the look more fitting for a rehearsal.
What is your normal attire to a rehearsal dinner (or groom’s dinner depending on where you are from)? How do you make a jam packed schedule work for you and keep your cool?
Well, this week is all about wedding for for this little lady, as one of my dear friends (and old roommate) is getting married on Friday! So, tomorrow night we are heading out to celebrate her last few days of independence, as well as the exciting new part of her life that is about to begin. Now, we are not the crazy type, which is why we can have a Bachlorette Party mid-week, but we will still have a good time and get all dolled up. The bride-to-be and I will be getting our nails done earlier in the afternoon before we meet up with everyone for dinner and really get the night kicked off. So, that means, it is time for me to nail down what I am actually going to wear. It has to be something easy to slip into, and if I could make it transition from the office to evening that would be even better, but I think we may need a little wardrobe change…even if that means in the car quickly. I want to have something fun and bright on (I mean, hello – I LOVE neon), but also light and airy because it has been so hot here. Here are some of my inspirations for the night…
