My very own fauxfur vest that I simply cannot get enough of. I seriously wish it was socially acceptable for me to wear it daily.
My Sorel boots keeping me warm and fashionable as the snow season has clearly begun in Minneapolis.
Hot yoga. Seriously, having a room heated to 94 degrees to escape to for an hour a day helps me deal with the bitter cold. Plus, it is a great place to go and relieve some stress.
Enjoying the long weekend by curling up on the couch and watching a movie. One of the simplest joys that I love doing when it gets cold and I have a little extra time. It is a mini staycation, perfect for the day after Thanksgiving.
Lights stringing the streets to light up the cold air with the warmth of the holiday season. I love it. Walking around Uptown in Minneapolis, or the streets of Paris (yes, I know – vast difference…and that is an understatement), I can’t help but smile to myself. It is like walking through a movie for a brief moment and I love it.
We are still in the heat of wedding season here in Minneapolis it seems. Today marks the wedding for two dear friends that I am so excited for. I remember laying on the floor with this little lady when she was crushing hard on this kind sir, and hoping and praying something would happen. Well, fast forward a year and a half and something indeed is happening – the two are starting their lives together as one. I am so excited to celebrate with them. The wedding is at The Gale Mansion over near Uptown – I am so excited because it is supposed to be gorgeous, as I am sure it will be because D would not settle for anything less…for today her fairytale truly becomes real.
Now I just need to finalize what I will be wearing…yes, this is cutting it a little close, even for me. What are you doing this brisk November weekend?
It is crazy to think that a year ago today I wrote my first post for B. in the Know. It started as a simple idea I had one day while sitting in Starbucks in South Carolina that then turned into a reality at Spyhouse one afternoon in Uptown. I didn’t know all that much about blogging. I just knew I liked the blogs I had read and I loved the idea of having a creative outlet. A place to share things that I was loving and the beauty I was appreciating, the adventures I was taking, and the music I am loving. I had no idea who, if anyone, would start reading this blog – but wow, I have been humbled time and time again. From the amazing emails, sweet comments and daily readers that come back every day – THANK YOU SO MUCH for helping this little idea grow. Some of you I have never met in person, and yet I feel like I have this little family in the blog world – makes writing that much more fun. Thank you for coming on this adventure with me this last year – it has been a growing year for the blog, but even more for me personally. It has been a year, but I am excited to see what is to come in the following.
Loves from B. to you! Hope you are having a fabulous week, loves!
What a beautiful day to be out in the city. I have grown up going to art fairs. I love them. I love walking around and seeing all the local art. I love all the food and beverages to consume. I love all the wonderful people watching. So…I am off to go frolic in the streets of uptown where art meets life today and be reminded of why I do really love this city I live in.
Minneapolis has been in an extreme tropical heatwave (though today it is a little more tame then the past couple of days). And I am loving every moment of it. I know that the majority of the country is feeling it – but this is a very rare moment for us. So many have been caught complaining, but not this lady. I am soaking up all that I can (when I am not stuck in the office) – even fully embracing my massive amount of curls that seem to to grow by the moment. I love wearing summery outfits to the office or sometimes coming home from work and throwing on a fun sun dress and sitting going out to frolic in Uptown, sit in read outside or enjoying an evening on a patio with friends sipping on a mojito.
How are things holding up in your part of the world? Are you a fan of the heat? How do you deal in this weather?
It is that thing I love that seems to be constantly calling my name – travel. Only problem is, right now my job does not involve traveling. Thus, I get the latest trend of my life – vacationing. I know, it is not the most practical thing in the world to vacation all the time, but especially in the summer, I try to make sure I make time for it. I love getting to go and relax, experience different cultures (even traveling within the US – there are different cultural experiences to be had), and see the fashion trends within the different places other than MN. With today being Memorial Day, I am enjoying an extra day – to have a staycation – and soak in some MN culture and fashion in Uptown with friends…and plan more summer vacations – this is one trend I like to stay on top of, as my list is ever growing…
Where are you dreaming of going on vacation these days? Did you go anywhere fun for the holiday weekend?
It is the perfect accessory for the beach – the big brim, floppy hat. I love how it hides your face from getting too much sun, or if feeling a little bashful, there is a nice brim to hide behind. They are so fun to wear – and I am so ready to wear mine tomorrow on the beach! Still in a little shock that I am really going on vacation. I am also excited to know I will not be alone in my floppy hat – the other ladies all have one, too – so clearly they are still the perfect accessory for the beach or an afternoon lunch at a little cafe on the deck. It may be cold and gray in Minneapolis, but this hat and I are ready for some sun.
Do you have a big floppy beach hat? Wear else do you rock your floppy hat? I like wearing mine all summer long – Saturday afternoons shopping in Uptown or a stroll around one of the lakes.
A girl who is ready for an adventure, running her hands through her hair (just the way I love to). I love this photo and it makes me excited for adventures to come this summer – for some reason I picture her heading to an amazing music festival…and maybe that is because if I were her that is what I would be doing…
The whole room is great and I do love it all – but what keeps me coming back time and time again is that couch. I simply adore it. I love the colors and the playing with mixing patterns – a trend I can’t get enough of these days when done well.
Yoga. Love love love. It is such a great work out and release at the same time. It is something that I find time for nearly every day. Yoga by the water is even better, which gets me excited for next week when I will get to wake up and go do yoga on the beaches of Mexico.
My newest TOMS obsession. Only problem is, I can’t find them for sale anywhere. Thankfully, I am loving a few of the other styles. I wear my pink sparkly TOMS a few times every week – they have great arch support and I love throwing them on after yoga to run about in Uptown.
I love blazers. I love birds. There you have it, we have a match made in heaven. Now, I would love it a lot more if I could own it and wear it myself.
So, there are five things I am currently loving. How about you, what are you loving these days?
