Peace Out…

Can you believe January is already coming to a close?!  This January may go down in history as my favorite January to date – and mainly because there is still very little snow on the ground and it has not been too cold, at least most days.  The sun has shinned more and that just makes me smile and not dread being awake in winter.  It also allows for more fun in the fashion world – especially with shoes, so what fashionista does not love that?!  With January coming to a close, it also has me checking back in with where I am at in reaching my goal for 2012.  The big move (location still being determined).  BUT, I am still on track to move and have been pursuing the two main options and really hoping one just becomes far more desireable over the other, so I know which I want to move forward with.

How about you – still pursuing those goals for 2012?  What was your highlight for January?

Much love,

Warm Persian…

It is cold, but the sun has still been shinning.  I am so thankful that this has been such a change of pace for Minnesota winters this year – I actually think I could handle MN if winter was always like this.  With the sun shinning, it also has me craving color and warmer hues – as opposed to my standard all black in the winter.  I am loving all of the Persian inspired patterns that are so rich with texture and have a global feel.

How do you feel about the warm Persian inspired look?  Is it too much for you?  Or, is the perfect amount of bold for you?

Much love,

True Promise…

Every year my sorority sisters get together to celebrate the founding of our sorority.  I absolutely love Founder’s Day.  Last year, we were watching a video and I teared up (yes…I know that sounds cheesy…).  It is so wonderful to get together and remember this is why I love being a Theta.  These women never fail to amaze me and I feel blessed to get to be a part of it.  From the outside, it looks silly or just like something to do in college – but it is far more than that, though if you are not in one I do not expect you to get it because it is one of those things you cannot understand unless you are a part of it.  I feel blessed that I made a decision, which felt slightly on a whim my freshman year of college – because that one decision has brought me a lot of joy – and given me another reason to love dressing in black and gold…

Are you a part of a Greek organization?  Are you still involved after your college years?

Much love,

Learning from Misconceptions…

I am a fan of learning.  Especially random information.  Thus, I share this fascinating video with you.  So, if you haven’t learned anything all week, be sure to watch this before you head out for the weekend.  Then, you can say you learned something this week and enjoy the weekend guilt free.  Plus, it is funny.

Happy weekend, loves!  Any fun plans?

Five Loves…

I adore this photo from Glamour UK 2012.  It is so whimsical and just takes you away.

Ellie Saab’s Haute Couture 2012 collection takes you away to a fairytale land – what lady doesn’t love a good fairytale?!

What is there not to love about this photo?  All the beautiful shoes overflowing in a gorgeous living room – I am such a sucker for a chandelier.

Speaking of loving chandeliers – just look at these gorgeous ones.

I love this Prada shot – it leaves you lost in the story of these two.  So much emotion is caught in this stunning photo.

Do you ever find yourself getting lost in a photograph and coming up with the story behind it?

Much love,

Jet Set Couture…

I love this time of year for fashion. Couture shows.  Naturally, my favorite to see every year is Chanel.  This year, Chanel was over the red carpet, so the blue carpet was rolled out.  Karl Lagerfeld was inspired by air travel and stewardess uniforms for Chanel’s Spring 2012 Haute Couture collection .  What an amazing collection – taking us on a jet set trip by transforming The Grand Palais.  The cool colors with subtle sparkle is breath taking – so chic.

Have you been watching any of the Haute Couture shows?  What have been some of your favorites?

Much love,

The Joy Formidable…

I have had XM Radio for a few months now and I am so thankful for it.  I never have commercials and there is a station that I feel like was created for me – Alt Nation.  It is pretty much amazing.  They play my favorite music all day long.  One of the many artists I love rocking out to at the end of a long day when I hop in my car is The Joy Formidable – especially this song, Whirring.  PS.  Minneapolis friends, they will be here Monday, March 19th at the Fine Line – eah, what do you say??  Only $15…let me know!  See full tour dates here.

What good tunes have you been enjoying as of late?

Much love,

Beau Bow…

The bow.  So feminine.  So chic.  So innocent.  So fun.  How can one not love wearing a bow?!  Whenever I put a bow on, I automatically feel more girly and I simply adore it.  From bows in the hair to skinny belts to cinch in your waist to bows on your shoes – there is a perfect place for a bow to finish off your look.

Are you a fan of bows?  Where is your favorite placement of a bow on your look?  How about bows on your men (I am a sucker for a good bow tie)?!

Neutral & Bright…

I did not have the pleasure of going to Alt Summit, but I have had the pleasure of looking at many beautiful pictures from the fabulous event.  One trend that I saw all over is neutrals paired with bright red lips (for the Winterwonderland day) – and I love the look so much.  It is classy and lady like, yet still fun and sassy.  The room was filled with beauty – and not just because of the clothes and makeup, so many stunning, amazing people in one room – so jealous.

Did you go to Alt Summit this year?  Do you like going to conferences?  Do you enjoy when the days have themes for attire?

Much love,

B
