Five Loves…

love1

This is an MTV promo and I am obsessed with it.  My roommates make fun of me because every time it comes on the screen I have a mini freak out about how magical this scene is.  Seriously, I could stare at it for hours and just get lost in the forest with the little creatures.

So, here is the reason why I get to see that lovely little promo ad so often.  Underemployed.  My new favorite show.  My girlfriends and I are obsessed with it.  Maybe it is the whole being able to relate to at least one of the story lines or the fact that it is set in Chicago – midwest represent – or maybe it is just because it is all around fabulous.  Check it out.

These shirts are fabulous, and the fact that they go to a good cause (multiple sclerosis (MS) research) makes me love them so much more.  I personally love that the period falls pretty much right where Duluth is, my hometown.  I basically need to have this shirt, consider it ordered.  You can get your state here.

This outfit on this man – pretty please?!!  I girl is not asking too much – actually, can I just have this outfit to put on a different man?  That would be perfect in my eyes.

love5

It is officially February – you know what that means, bring on the celebration of love!!  My favorite holiday is just around the corner so I will be celebrating all month long with heart shaped everything.  Starting with these lavender shortbread cookies – can we say yum?!!

Happy February loves, what are you loving?? Have you watched Underemployed?

Much love,

Five Loves…

I love fashion books – I serisously would fill all the sapce on my book shelves if I had a budget to.  I have a thing for coffee table books in general, but as a lover of fashion, am drawn to these even more.  Need. To. Stop. Buying. Myself. Christmas. Presents…

I am loving this combination so much – it is soft meets hard.  Love when what normally seems like a contradiction comes together to work perfectly.

Men, just say yes.  Please.  These boots are so hot and you should do yourself a favor and get a pair.  Just sayin…

The perfect stolcking stuffer.  Burt’s Bees, how I love thee.  When the air turns dry and crisp, your sweetness meets my lips and skin to soothe and nurture me.  It will be love at first touch, I promise.

How does this not put a smile on your face?!!  Freaking love this kid – and love that this little hipster fashionista even goes by the name of Eleanor.  Picture of the future one day?!!  I sure hope so…with a few other things in place first, of course…

What got you through the week?  Does anyone else feel like the full week back from a holiday week or vacation drags on?

Much love,

B

Five Loves…

It may be cold out, but that means it is time to start wearing the faux fur again.  I love getting to wear my fur vest – it is like being wrapped up in a blanket all day long.

Men, take note.  These are amazing shoes.  The other day, I was walking in one one of my last days at work to find that one of my coworkers just went out shopping – and nailed it!  I was so proud – I had to take a picture and of course promised he would make it on the blog.  I think my work here is done!

Obsessed.  No other word for it – my matte finish top coat is changing my life – at least my manicure and pedicure world.  It was love at first stroke.

I love my birthday – it is a fun excuse to get my favorite people together and enjoy them.  I also like that I get to eat cake completely guilt free.  It has been a fabulous week of celebrating.  Today is going to be filled with spa treatments before I head off to a wedding (I know, right?!!)  and then tomorrow will be the big celebration.  I am excited to see what my lovely friends have planned for me – they make me feel so loved!

I love fortune cookies.  Not so much for the taste – but because I love reading the fortunes.  Seriously, I have issues – I collect them.  This one I got earlier this week and it has had me rather intrigued all week…I wonder just what it will be…either way, I am excited!

How do you feel about your birthday?  Do you like making a big deal out of it or prefer it to be just a normal day?

Much love,

Denim on Denim…

There seems to be an ever growing trend of denim on denim.  It no longer has to be trashy…but can actually be rather cute.  In fact this post was inspired by the fact that I seem to not be able to get enough of this trend these days, probably because any chance I get I have on my denim shirt like it is a jacket.  I personally am a fan of the darker denim on bottom and lighter on top.  However, some people make the opposite look extremely cute, as well.  And the other fun thing, this is a great look for guys as well – I seem to be liking those this week…

Are you working the denim on denim look into your style?  How do you make it work?

Much love,

B

Falling for Gingham…

Gingham.  A classic pattern that may make you think of the farm boys or Southern belles most days, but this fall gingham is every where and for everyone to enjoy.  I love how a classic pattern like this can be edged up by pairing with some ripped up boyfriend jeans and edgy arm candy.  Or pair it with a classic pencil skirt and you can take trendy to the office and still keep it professional.  Now, the only challenging decision you will be faced with is – what color to go with?!  You seem to be able to find this classic pattern in every color one could desire…and guys, this trend is not just for the ladies, so do take note how you can work it into your style, too.  Pair i gingham shirt with a simple black skinny tie – sharp, or to put it in simple terms – hott.

Are you going to be falling for the gingham trend, or have you already joined in on the fun?  How are you styling gingham to keep it true to you?

Much love,

B

Men, Take Note…

The other day I ran into one of my guy friends that I had not seen in awhile.  We were having a great time catching up, but I just had to interrupt him mid sentence because I was loving his shoes.  I know that sounds ridiculous – but seriously, men, a good pair of shoes can go a long way.  Women notice these things – and trust me, it does not lead us to think you are not masculine.  In fact, it is rather attractive when a man has on good shoes.  The man looks more put together, like he can take care of himself and is no longer a little boy (now granted, just because you have good shoes does not equal being a man…just saying it helps you give off the appearance of being a man) needing his mother to help him get dressed.  For summer, a good tan Oxford shoe looks great at the office, or with a pair of more lightweight slacks – it looks, well – hot.  Just saying, guys – I want to help you out.  It is a practical investment for you that will also have people noticing you – in a good way.

Guys, what is your go-to shoe for summer?  Ladies, what are some other “men, take note” suggestions?

Much love,

B

Five Loves…

Love the simplicity of her make-up.  It is a perfect inspiration for the wedding make-up we will be having done today to make us pretty for the camera and wedding this evening.  (Don’t worry loves, not my wedding – you would know if it was my wedding…and I probably would not be posting!)

I love this print.  AND I love my city.  That’s right, loves, my heart has completely been won over by this diverse and magical city.  There is a part that resonates with every part of my being…and that makes me happy to call it home.

I love a good hot summer and taking time to lay out and soak up some rays.  What little lady doesn’t love a little sun kissed look?!

Natalie Neal is truly talented with a camera.  I love this rainbow she captured.  I also love rainbows.  They still blow my mind every time I see one.

I love when men get dressed up and tonight I will get to see all sorts of it at the wedding.  I especially love a good skinny tie on a man.  Makes me weak in the knees.

What are some of your favorite summer wedding looks?

Much love,

B

In the Men’s Room {Summer Styling}…

Freshening up your look for spring and summer is not just for the ladies.  The men have a lot they can do to get away from the standard khaki cargo short and tee-shirt, though that is not a terrible look – just not something you should rock everyday of summer guys.  Trust me, ladies like to see you have a little sense of style.  Don’t worry, you do not need to make yourself look like something you are not, but don’t be afraid to try a little something new.  Here are a few examples to use for inspiration…

Alright loves, what would you love to see men wearing this spring and summer?  How do you influence your man’s attire?

Much love,

B
