With the arrival of autumn women everywhere have flocked the streets with their over the knee boots. This is a trend that I both love and dread. The boots, when worn appropriately look stunning and can actually elongate your legs. However, when worn incorrectly you quickly begin to resemble a modern day version of Vivian Ward. I personally love the way Miranda Kerr styled hers with a long black coat and a simple short dress. These boots are show stoppers so I prefer to pair them with a simple and clean outfit and let them be the star of my look.
How do you feel about the over the knee boot? Will you be a show stopper this fall in this look?
Now, when most people hear thigh high boots, classy is most likely not the first thing that comes to mind. And granted, that is a legitimate thing because often they can look trashy. However, this fall is redeeming the image of thigh high boots. The height can be done in a way that still is sexy, but also kept classy. I mean, if Celine and Chanel are willing to send looks down their runways with thigh highs, there clearly is a way to do them right. I love the way they add a sleekness to a woman’s leg. There are far more options in heeled boots, but there are some flat ones as well that are stunning. I would love to add a black pair to my boot collection and then style them with a black nylon underneath so the small portion of my leg that would show would still be slightly covered. It adds a dramatic feel to the look in a subtle way.
How do you feel about thigh high boots? Will you be embracing the trend this fall? What color would you want?
August is an interesting month. It is still totally summer, but most of us are craving fall fashions. My personal favorite is boots. So, the perfect solution that is everywhere as of late – peep-toe booties. They are so sexy and cute at the same time. I have a pair that I love to wear to weddings because they are fabulous to dance in with their hidden platform. They look cute with skinnies or a hot little dress. The peep toe adds a little flirty playfulness to the whole overall look.
Are you a fan of the peep toe bootie trend? How do you style them to fit your personality?
I love living two blocks away from the Farmer’s Market – all sorts of goodies for the soul and tummy. Seriously, my house smells divine from the fresh flowers this week.
Late night trips to my favorite little ice cream shop with my love. Never gets old. Love those sweet treats.
Love this whole look. The detailing on the back is so fabulous. And those wedges – I love the zipper up the back of the heel.
Can Tory Burch do anything wrong when it comes to designing?!! I think not. Another fabulous pair of heels – so adorable.
Girls’ Night came to a close this week for this season – I love these ladies and spending my Monday nights with them as we discover who is there for the right reasons on the journey of love to find their perfect honeymoon…if you watch The Bachelor/Bachelorette you get all the phrases…it’s a thing. Plus, I loved this seasons ending – so so sweet.
What are the sweet little things in your life you are loving today?
Tonight marks the closing of the latest season of ABC’s The Bachelorette. I always host girls’ night to watch – we gush over the drama, the men, the trips and of course the clothes. Even if a week seems to be boring – we at least always have some fabulous fashion to cheers to. Tonight the gals and I are actually going to a fun event here in Minneapolis for a live viewing of the finale together. I have no idea what is going to happen as I was left stunned, pissed, and hurt for Des last week – I am more excited to see the dress she will wear for the last Rose Ceremony and the shoes. The girl has good taste in shoes. So, even if she doesn’t find love – at least she has a fabulous new car (that is teal!) and some amazing new clothes.
Are you a Bachelor/Bachelorette fan? Will you be watching the finale tonight? What do you want to see happen?
I love this look. It looks like it was put together with such ease, and whether that is true or not, that is always a good thing. Plus, those heels are too cute!!
Pictures of people’s arm candy always catches my attention. I think they are beautiful. Plus, I always love seeing what people put together – it’s like a little piece of art.
Another beautiful and simple look. Maybe it is the whole going into the weekend thing, but I cannot get enough of these. Plus, I again am LOVING her shoes!!
I think this is always a helpful mantra to remind yourself of, but it certainly has been as of late for me. I can get so caught up in planning the future that I forget to enjoy the present. I need to remember – things take time and that is okay – so why not enjoy it.
He just makes me so happy – I feel like the luckiest, so naturally it was going to make the list eventually. This is from the wedding we went to last weekend. Guess this is another one of those things that proves things take time and it was worth the wait – so patience is a good thing!
Happy Friday, lovies!! What has been putting a smile on your face this week?
There is something about this photo I love. I also love this blouse. It is classy, but still fun, which is what I am all about for office looks.
Deep dish. Whole wheat. Vegan chocolate chip cookie with sea salt. All in one. Can we say yum?!! The fact that it is in a heart shape is the cherry on top for me.
There is something about this whole look that I absolutely adore. It just works and I love it.
I love these shoes – they are so hott! I have been having a love affair with heels as of late, simply cannot get enough.
I am a firm believer that a girl can never have too many bags. There are so many pretty options that each one needs to be enjoyed. I love this clutch and makes me think I could do a clutch for the day, which is hard for a lady who typically is a big purse gal.
How often do you change your purse up? Can you do a small purse or clutch? How do you make it work?
I love shoes. That is not anything new. Recently in my shoe obsession I am loving ankle straps. There is something so sexy about them. It is such a subtle detail, but it changes the whole look of a shoe. I personally am all about the ankle strap on a heel, but the ankle strap on flats is also super cute. I also love that this is a style you can wear with jeans or a pencil skirt, and both look hott.
Are you a fan of the ankle strap? Do you think it works with all looks? Or do you only like it with a certain style?
