On the Matte…

Having your nails freshly done is always a fabulous feeling.  It feels fresh, fun and put together.  My default is always a bright shiny red – I love it so much.  However, recently it has been bitterly cold and all I find myself drawn to are more dull colors.  So, naturally it has to be expressed somewhere in my attire – which today is on my nails.  I recently bought a matte top coat for my nails and I LOVE it – it is perfect for these bitterly cold wintery days.

Five Loves…

I am obsessed with this look.  It is so hott and I want to wear every single piece of it!

love2

I adore the simple little details in life – especially this little bow on the back of this sweater.  Simply stunning.

love3

I would most likely never wear a big tulle skirt out and about, but I just love how fun it looks.  I like how it is styled with this simple tee so it is not too over the top.

love4

I love how cute she is all bundled up.  I love even more that pop of red lips.

love5

How cute is this?!  I may not love snow, but I sure love this cute look for the snow.

What looks are you loving this week?  Are you feeling simple details or extravagant?

Much love,

There is something so beautiful about this photo.  The girl is stunning, but that is not all.  The look in her eyes draw you in and then the soft look on her whole face allows for the red to pop perfectly on her lips.  Love this lovely.

This drawing is amazing.  I love all that it communicates all through a pencil sketch.  A girl filled with so much emotion and words that are right there on the surface, but still stuck inside of you…

Seriously, this is the perfect warm winter day ensemble.  I adore the hat – the big brim to help block the wind.  Then, add the big shawl – divine.

love5

I have been obsessing over figs as of late and so naturally this salad grabbed my attention right away.  It looks delectable.

love4

How cute are these little booties?!!  I seriously feel like I need these for spring.  I just die.

What are you dying to gets your little paws on for spring?  Do you impulse buy or try to take time to think about the purchase first?

Much love,

You Caught Me Blushing…

Rosy cheeks are trending like crazy right now.  This works great for those of us that live in the frozen tundra, because only a few minutes outside with the bitter cold and you have some flushed cheeks.  A simple face with a full rosy cheek has an innocent look that is still a beautiful statement look.

How do you feel about the rosy cheek look?  Do you like to wear blush?

Love Those Red Lips…

Lipstick is so fun to play with.  When you have a simple look, adding a pop of color makes your face look awake and bright.  It gives you dimension.  The best makeup secret I know when I want to transition to the night is to freshen up my lips with some bright red lipstick.  The only thing is you have to be careful…those bright red lips seem to attract attention…but Audrey was able to handle it and still keep it classy!

What is your make up trick to wake up for a night out?  What is your lip color go to?

Much love,

Mulberry Smooch…

The burgundy, mulberry hue is popping up every where this fall – especially when it comes to your lips.  I love the dark, rich and seductive look of a deep mulberry lip.  I also like that it is bold, but not too bold for the office, which makes transitioning to happy hour and a night look all that much easier.  There are so many great options for this hue, but my personal current fav is from MAC – but that is my go-to make-up place when I want a good bold color.

How do you feel about the deep rich mulberry lip?  Are you a lipstick wearer?

Much love,

Fall Nails…

A fresh manicure always looks fabulous.  It can add dimension to a look and finish you off perfectly.  The best part about fall is the deeper, richer tones come out to play and add drama to your finger tips.  Even the neutrals get darker and more luxurious.  I always enjoy a fresh manicure – whether I give it to myself or go have it done, I just wish I had more time to play with all the colors – so many fabulous colors for fall and only so much time.  Currently I have been all about the dark, dark shades with a lighter more neutral accent nail – it has been a fun way to change things up a bit.  My go-to brand is always Essie – I mean, just look at those colors…how can you not want to try every color?!

What are your favorite colors to wear on your nails?  What are you currently wearing?

Much love,

A Little Uplifting…

Sometimes we all need a little uplifting.  Here were some lovely uplifting thoughts that I read the other day that I had to share.  They were helpful for me, so maybe they will be for you.  And if not, at least there are pretty pictures to look at today, too.

1. Enjoy what is now, don’t worry about the future and think of the past, just concentrate on now and making the most of the time that is now and you will find you won’t get bogged down.

2. Do what you love and do it often.

3. Speak from your heart, people will engage you more.

4. Challenge yourself. Don’t get caught up in the comfort zone, always push yourself and you will come out feeling great.

5. If you don’t like something, change it. Life is too short to do something you dislike.

6.  Stop comparing yourself to others, BE YOU!

7. Share what you’re passionate about, talk out loud about things that inspire you and inspire the people around you, too.

And after all of that I would remind every one to take a  deep breath, it really all will be okay.  I have been having to remind myself of that daily as of late, especially at work (we have a go-live on Tuesday…I know that makes no sense to most, but it is a big deal and causes high stress for all involved)…

Where any of those helpful thoughts for you?  Which is your favorite?  What do you find to be uplifting?

Much love,

Beautiful Wood…

Designers find inspiration in all sorts of places.  For Sophie Monet, that inspiration started in her father’s wood shop a few years back and has transformed into a stunning company that brings art, nature and beauty all together in one piece of jewelry.  Here Sophie shares a little more on her inspiration and design, “My jewelry is a synthesis of my life.  The wood represents Los Angeles and what I was surrounded by growing up.  Whether it be palm trees that line the streets from Venice to Santa Monica or my close family bonds, and the wood shop I spent my childhood in.  The gol and stone represent my entry into independence in New York.  The urban mountains continue to be a source of my inspiration, shaping the growth of my knowledge.  I synthesize and sculpt the materials that surround me, bringing natural elements into different contexts.”

Where do you draw inspiration from?  Would wood jewelry fit in with your style? I am totally in love with the wood pony tail piece.

Much love,

B
