Today is the third annual Valentines Tea with all the girlies! I love that my girlfriends all enjoy, or at least play along nicely, getting together to celebrate all things pink, red and covered in hearts that is Valentines Day. It is simply fabulous. I best be off and get back to hosting – and when did I become such a little hostess?! Who knew I loved hosting this much?!! Glad I found out, because I seriously cannot get enough of it.
Do you get together with your girlfriends to celebrate different holidays? What are some of your traditions?
With Valentines Day right around the corner, it has me looking for the perfect accessories to wear my heart on my sleeve – or my finger, ears, wrist or around my neck. I personally am a fan of something simple and delicate. I also really like the idea of layering a few delicate pieces together to make a bigger statement, but let it be my own personal creation. Adding little pieces like this is a subtle way to embrace the Valentines’ spirit.
How do you feel about heart jewelry? Is it for you or not so much your style?
This is an MTV promo and I am obsessed with it. My roommates make fun of me because every time it comes on the screen I have a mini freak out about how magical this scene is. Seriously, I could stare at it for hours and just get lost in the forest with the little creatures.
So, here is the reason why I get to see that lovely little promo ad so often. Underemployed. My new favorite show. My girlfriends and I are obsessed with it. Maybe it is the whole being able to relate to at least one of the story lines or the fact that it is set in Chicago – midwest represent – or maybe it is just because it is all around fabulous. Check it out.
These shirts are fabulous, and the fact that they go to a good cause (multiple sclerosis (MS) research) makes me love them so much more. I personally love that the period falls pretty much right where Duluth is, my hometown. I basically need to have this shirt, consider it ordered. You can get your state here.
This outfit on this man – pretty please?!! I girl is not asking too much – actually, can I just have this outfit to put on a different man? That would be perfect in my eyes.
It is officially February – you know what that means, bring on the celebration of love!! My favorite holiday is just around the corner so I will be celebrating all month long with heart shaped everything. Starting with these lavender shortbread cookies – can we say yum?!!
Happy February loves, what are you loving?? Have you watched Underemployed?
Now, I thought after the new year life was supposed to slow down, right?!! Yeah, not the case this year. This year, the parties continue. Last night I went to two holiday parties, and this evening I am off to two more parties – I mean guess that keeps life exciting. Though, not going to lie – I wouldn’t mind a quiet night in cuddled up on the couch with a few close friends – at least the close friends are at the parties. And the funny part is, all of January is filled with parties – somewhat odd for a month that does not have any major holidays in it…
Is your January slowing down or are you still full speed ahead with the holiday parties?
Well, my loves, 2012 has ended and 2013 is here. Today, many of us are back at work with the holidays behind us. For 2012 my big thing was wanting to make the big move – and I was able to accomplish that by purchasing my house and even getting to host a fun NYE party there the other night. So, what will it be in 2013?! I am still unsure, but with a little glitter and gold, I say bring it on 2013. I was more than surprised with some of the things that came to be in 2012, so I am excited to see what is next to come.
Do you make resolutions for the new year? What is your’s this year?
Wanted to quick say hi, loves! I am still enjoying some fabulous time off and spending that time today prepping for my NYE party. I have already spilt glitter everywhere (making glitter wine glasses like these – I can totally be DIY…), but who cares – it goes with the theme of the night so it works. Later I will slip into a little sparkle of my own to host this evening. I am actually getting excited – it should be fun combination of people and good food and drinks – makes for a good night to remember.
What are your plans for the evening? Have you been able to enjoy a long holiday weekend?
The ultimate night for a party dress is New Year’s Eve. This year my roommates and I will be hosting a little soiree, so I really should have a dress picked out by now – but I don’t. The thing I know that I want in my dress is that it needs to sparkle – a lot. I loe sequins, and there is something about NYE that screams the need to bask in the glitter and bling. NYE is a night that you can branch out of your comfort zone and wear something that any other time would be considered over the top – it is like playing dress up for grown-ups. I love that.
What is your New Year’s Eve style? Do you know what you are wearing this year?
Merry Christmas, my loves!! Today I am taking a break and hanging out with my dear friends that have become family to me. Then, after a day of relaxing I will be going to see Les Miserables with friends – it has been our annual tradition to go to a movie on Christmas Day night – so excited!!
Hope you are having a fabulous day!
Do you have any Christmas Day traditions? Do you like making new traditions or sticking to the classics?
Every year Pantone selects a new color of the year. For 2013, they have declared Emerald to be the color of the year. So get ready my loves, we will be living in an emerald city and all red heads will be glowing – as this is a color owned by them. We all can embrace this color trend, but the women that own it so stunningly is certainly the gingers. Emerald also works well with today being Christmas Eve and all – why not start by embracing the trend tonight at whatever gathering you find yourself off to? I know I certainly could wear my emerald blouse I got two years ago from Paris – who knew I was so ahead of the times?! Glad I finally will have more excuses to wear it than just on St. Patty’s day at the office (you know how I love subtly dressing up for the holidays – ok, with the exception of my annual Valentine’s Day outfit – the rest are subtle…).
Do you follow the color of the year trends? How do you feel about working emerald into your style?
