Five Loves…

love1

How cozy and chic does this pretty lady look all at the same time?!  I adore her whole look.

love2

I love purses and bags.  I love social justice.  So, when purchasing a bag, which is extremely cute I might add, will supply 100 school lunches for children in India, I’m naturally going to fall in love with it.  Check our Rachel Roy’s partnership with FEED here.  There are two colors, but I love this white one with the bright tassels.

love3

Love this arm candy.  All week I have been layering and layering the pieces on to turn my wrist in to a real party.  I love mixing gold, fancier bracelets with some of my more hippie hemp bracelets.  Makes for a fun look.

I love this photo so much.  I wish that was me – so peaceful.  I love rowing, so the thought of rowing to the middle of the lake and getting some peaceful alone time sounds delightful.

I love my sweet friend, Cassie and today is her birthday!!  Happy birthday, C – love you lots!!  Thankful for you – more than words can express.

How do you stay looking chic, but still comfortable in the heat and humidity?

Much love,

B

The Wild Feathers…

Now, some people may be over the guys getting together, jamming out and singing with fabulous voices and energy – but me, not so much.  In fact, I am still loving it because each group does find a way to add their own twist to it.  Plus, if they have long hair and scruff to mix with their musical talents I am all ears…especially if my ears get to be at a live music happy hour event.  The Wild Feathers are my new favorite and though sadly they will not be doing a show in Minneapolis anytime soon, they are doing a guest appearance at a Sun Soaker Thursday put on by Cities 97 on June 27th.  Naturally, my girlfriends and I have turned this in to a full on event – it will be fabulous to have a mid-week catch up on the lake (hopefully with sun) and great live music.  These guys have such a great sound, especially to rock out to on a hot summer afternoon!  These American boys, who have been playing together since August 2010, bring together the best of rock, country, folk, and blues to make a sound of their own.  So, if you are in the area, feel free to come join us at Maynard’s on June 27th – we will be there rain or shine!

How do you get your fix of live outdoor music in during the summer?

Much love,

B

Watch Yourself…

ff

Oh how true it is – and as the little sister I love that.  There has to be some perk to being picked on by this person for years, right?!!  I love my sister and love that no matter how much shit she will ever give me, I always know she is for me and has my back.  So, watch yourself, y’all.

Do you have siblings?  Do you get along?

Much love,

B

Five Loves…

photo (3)

This week’s five loves are a little look into my life.  Here are a few of my current favorite things – stripes, arm party that changes daily, green tea soy latte, and having a thought provoking book to read – such a divine moment.

photo (4)

A freshly cleaned back porch with a new table and chairs that only cost me $10!!  And of course, my beautiful model who makes everything better – sweet Willow.

Pretty in pink – lips.  Last night I went to the Pop Sugar event at Anthropologie and had so much fun.  With my purchase I also got this fun new lipstick, and we all know how much I love bright lips!

It has become a full on event – the return of The Bachelorette means the return of girls’ night.  We have a group of seven of us that pile into the living room every Monday night and make the show into a full on sporting event.  It is fabulous and I actually like Mondays because of it.

My freshly cut summer hair.  I got it cut yesterday and was then informed by a friend that meant a selfie was required – so, I figured I should share it with all of you, lovies!  I love how light and free it feels – perfect for a summertime attitude!

Do you change your hair up with the seasons?  Do you do gradual or drastic changes to your hair?

Much love,

B

Caught In a Life…

having friends that have good taste in music is pretty much a must in my life.  Not every single one of my friends I can sit around and talk music with, but the ones I can I seriously am so thankful for.  They open me up to new artists and groups all the time that I wouldn’t have found on my own – and then I get to share my findings with them.  It is a beautiful, beautiful thing.  That is what happened with (please disregard the band name) Donkeyboy.  I am loving their album Caught In a Life, especially this first track off the album, Stereolife.  This is a little taste of Danish pop that is all the rave in Norway - they are up for some great awards, and I can see why – they mixing of these beats is fabulous.

How do you experience and discover new music?

Much love,

B

Show a Little Back…

back1

On Saturday, I went shopping with my yogi gals.  One of the cutest trends that I was loving is an open back – even if it was just slight.  It is a look that is sexy and modest at the same time – I absolutely love that.  I am not one that loves low cut shirts, I don’t feel covered enough – but an open back I can do and feel confident.  I personally need to wear a bra, so I am a huge fan of throwing a little lace bralette under the fun flowy open back shirts.  Perfect for a summer day or evening look – especially if headed to an outdoor music festival.

Do you have any backless dresses?  Do you go braless?  or rock the Carrie Bradshaw look and confidently allow your bra to show?

Pusher Love Girl…

pusher1

Damn.  JT’s new album is so good and we cannot get enough of it at Whimsical Wentworth.  You can’t help but move.  The first track off the album is Pusher Love Girl and I was so inspired by it.  I mean what girl wouldn’t love to be adorned like this – okay it may not be the most romantic approach, but it is creative and the beat will have you moving those hips that you would feel honored to be someone’s pusher love.  The type of gal that would inspire this I picture as a free spirit who is content in where she is and who she is, but still on a journey growing…

And yes, why the last two free spirits are my bestie, Miss Molly and I.

What has you feeling alive and moving?  Have you heard the new JT album?  Thoughts?

Much love,

B

A Full Free Weekend…

easter

It is Easter weekend and because of that I have a “normal” weekend – aka a weekend off from Yoga Teacher Training.  It is fun to get time to catch up with some friends.  Tomorrow I will be checking out a new church in the AM and then heading to celebrate Easter with some of my friends who have become my family.  I love getting to spend the holidays with them.  However, this year I do have to bring my own food since they are southern and cook holiday meals with butter being the main ingredient, oh well – totally worth it to get to be with them!

What are you doing to celebrate Easter weekend?  Have a great weekend!

Much love,

B

I Wanna Make This Plain…

Need something a little more chill, or smooth operator if you will, today?!  Then you should really do yourself a favor and check out Rhye’s album Woman.  The whole thing is fabulous.  I have been listening to it almost daily at work for the past week.  A good friend sent it to me because he thought it was right up my alley – and dang, he was right.  I am loving it.  Open is the first track on the album and I had to share that one since it got me right away at the intro.  They say this album is a new mix for the lovers dance floor…just give it a listen and you will understand.   And if you can’t put it to use there, it certainly will help you chill out.  The musicality is smooth and captivating.  If that doesn’t grab you, listen to the lyrics because they are beautiful the way they are strung together and dance over the notes.

What new music have you been introduced to recently?

Much love,

B

Paper Hearts…

I love going to concerts.  It is one of my favorite places to be in the whole entire world.  It makes me feel alive, like my insides are dancing.  Last Saturday, I had the joy of getting to see one of my dear friends play at The Fine Line in Minneapolis, miss Sarah Winters.  She both opened, as well as played with the band Why?  They have been touring around the world for the last year and have such a unique sound with their alternative hip hop indie rock sound – it is great to listen to, but so much more amazing live.  Concert season is totally back in full swing, I cannot stop buying tickets.

Going to any fun concerts soon?

Much love,

B
