Do You Dare {White Jeans}?!!

I love the look of a good clean pair of white jeans.  And so does everyone else these days it seems – or enough that it is certainly going to be a trend this summer.  The only thing is, white is not the most flattering color when it comes to pants and how the heck do you keep them clean?!  So, I was thinking, do I dare try this trend?!  Those thighs – no one wants to call attention to that area…but then I realized, isn’t this the same exact fear we all had years ago when skinnies came back on the radar?!  And now look at us, we are rocking those skinnies like it is our job.  So, I say no need to stress over the thighs and enjoy the trend if you like it.  Plus, it at least gives us an excuse to go shopping – but make sure to not splurge on the purchase unless you are certain you will wear them all the time.

Five Loves…

 

This is the perfect combination of cozy and professional – this is totally doable for the office.  Perfect for summer at the office and then transition to the local rooftop.

 

Wind blown hair.  Stripes.  Soft coral lips.  And fresh flowers.  Now, put those all together and you have a lovely lady on a warm spring day.

 

A chambray shirt to through over everything in the spring and summer nights is my favorite go to look.

 

Casual Friday.  Pretty much the perfect way to take on a Friday at the office – that is if you can wear jeans.

 

A busy woman may always be on the go, but that does not mean she sacrifices fashion.  And a look is always made more fun when topped off with a hat – a gal can never have too many hats and sunshine in my book.

Time for Sunnies…

 

Bring on the sun, let it shine on down just make sure you don’t forget to grab your sunnies.  I love a good pair of sunglasses, or three or four to rotate between during the summer.  I mean, different pairs look better with different looks.  It is always good to have a more classic black or tortoise shell pair, but it can be fun to have a more out there pair, as well.  Sunglasses are a great way to express your personality and finish off your warm weather look.  So, go on out there, and don’t be afraid to buy a few cheap pairs because lets be honest, sunglasses are also the easiest accessory to break or misplace it seems.  Plus, cheaper pairs allows you to have a few pairs to work with as opposed to one really expensive pair, though I certainly do love those designer shades, too.  Currently I am on the hunt for the perfect, or shall I say purrfect, cat eye sunglasses – the perfect amount of sass for this gal.

Bohemian Dreams…

 

The sun is finally shinning and may stay out for a little while.  With that, lovies, it is time for summer fashion.  This week I am dreaming of a bohemian summer – some looks are perfect for a summer festival and then some even come in a pencil skirt so that bohemian spirit can even make it to the office.  Summer rays draw out that bohemian spirit in everyone, especially this little lady.   Bright and bold prints, paired with flowy tops of neutrals and layers of bangles create the perfect bohemian look.  If you tuck in that flowy shirt, it can be an office appropriate look, too.

It’s a Thing {Socks & Sandals}…

 

Socks and heels is a thing, and now this spring the sandals want in on the fun, too.  Especially when it comes to a good pair of Birkenstocks, which as a northern Minnesota girl I am all about.  It also appears this spring the outdoorsy gals will not be the only ones wearing a more hardy pair of sandals, which our feet will love us for, because they are certainly making a statement.  I love that a very natural and practical sandal can be paired with a cute spring or summer look and still be fashionable.  That is what I call a practical fashionista – and we all know we need a day or two like that!

Corked…

 

Could this be the new next thing for purses this summer?!  I mean, even Henri Bendel is selling them.  Some of the styles are really fun and would be a great summer time accessory.  I especially am loving the cork with pops of neon, I am not so ready to give up my neon love – at least give me one more summer to enjoy the comeback.

Lounging in Style…

 

Today, here in the States, it is a holiday – that often involves a lot of lounging as it is the unofficial end of summer.  However, just because there is lounging involved, it doesn’t mean you can’t look stylish and cute.  It is such a simple and effortless look, but a look that I adore.  Give me a cozy sweater and skinnies or leggings, or if it is warm a simple mini skirt with a flowy top to lounge around in.

When the Breeze Rushes In…

 

I am not sure about where you are, but it severely cooled off in Minneapolis.  There is a brisk cool breeze sweeping through the city that has me all wrapped up in scarves.  Now, it is still summer so I am not bulling out the big bulky scarves, but rather I am going with scarves from my summer collection.  These scarves are brighter and more floral in pattern, but still add warmth around my neck.  I am fighting to live in the moment and enjoy the last few days of summer, but not going to lie – the cold air is making me excited for fall…

Freedom…

If I had to chose one song to be my summer anthem, it would have to be Freedom by Tyrone Wells.  He did such an amazing job performing earlier this summer at the Basilica Block Party and it was so fun dance around with the whole crowd.  I know everyone is getting excited for fall, but it is still sumer so I am still relishing in the free spirit of summer.
