On a Coffee Run…

When life gets busy, you do not slack on the style.  Rather, you keep it cool by staying awake with some fabulous coffee (or tea).  There is something about having a cup of coffee in my hand that adds some calmness and reminds me to breath as I rush from meeting to meeting.  A classy lady looks chic and awake with whatever the world throws at her, and makes sure to be armed appropriately.  For me, coffee is my favorite arming accessory.

What keeps you armed and prepared to face the world?

A Year in the Know…

It is crazy to think that a year ago today I wrote my first post for B. in the Know.  It started as a simple idea I had one day while sitting in Starbucks in South Carolina that then turned into a reality at Spyhouse one afternoon in Uptown.  I didn’t know all that much about blogging.  I just knew I liked the blogs I had read and I loved the idea of having a creative outlet.  A place to share things that I was loving and the beauty I was appreciating, the adventures I was taking, and the music I am loving.  I had no idea who, if anyone, would start reading this blog – but wow, I have been humbled time and time again.  From the amazing emails, sweet comments and daily readers that come back every day – THANK YOU SO MUCH for helping this little idea grow.  Some of you I have never met in person, and yet I feel like I have this little family in the blog world – makes writing that much more fun.  Thank you for coming on this adventure with me this last year – it has been a growing year for the blog, but even more for me personally.  It has been a year, but I am excited to see what is to come in the following.

Loves from B. to you!  Hope you are having a fabulous week, loves!

Much love,

Five Loves…

People watching is one of my favorite things to do – and I love it even more at an airport.  Trying to figure out where people are coming from, where they are going – and why, simply fascinates me.

Flying.  I love having my head above the clouds – it is always so gorgeous up there.  I cannot get enough of it.  Every time I get up there I can’t help but smile.

Starbucks at the airport.  A staple to every one of my travels.  I love that it is the same everywhere I go so I always know I can get my favorite soy latte.  (And random – the Starbucks at an airport I thought had the best picture would naturally be in the Sydney Australia International Airport…)

Time to catch up on reading all of my magazines – they are perfect for the plane.

And let’s be honest – I just love travel.  There is a big world out there and I want to see it and all of it’s beauty.  And that makes me love airports in general because the world is at your finger tips – those planes can take you where ever you want to go.

Are you a fan of airports?  What do you like or dislike about them?

Much love,

Today’s Accessory…

Wednesday are always about accessories.  And, this Wednesday is really no different – except today’s accessory is coffee.  And lots of it.  It is back to work for me after an extremely relaxing vacation (that ended approximately 12 hours ago…) that was much needed, though left me a little lost in wonder land and not ready to dive back in to things.  To my luck, though, work has had other thoughts for me by filling up my calendar with meetings and my inbox with endless emails (okay, so I may be being a little dramatic…but still you know what it is like to come back to work after vacation…not the easiest transition).  Thus, today you will not see me without my coffee, specifically my soy latte.  It is my staple when energy is low.  I was sure to plan an outfit that my beautiful Starbucks cup would coordinate well with.  So, here’s to hoping I can make it look as chic as the celebs do when caught with their cup of jo in hand…

Don’t they just work that cup of jo so beautifully?!  I sure think so.  So, what about you, loves?  How do you transition back into work after a wonderful escape from reality?  Are you a coffee or tea drinker?  What is the drink of choice?  Or if not that, what is your secret?

Much love,

Steps Towards Being a Big Kid…

Ok, so the last 24 hours or so have been big for me.  I have made some big steps towards being an adult, at least in terms of investments.  I mean, first I finally bought my Starbucks travel tumbler…with the cady cane straw.  So adult. So green.  That’s me.

Adults need their daily Starbucks...

Then, last night I finally took the pluge…and bought a new car.  This little fashionista used to have a car that was really cramping her style.  I mean, I loved the dear old Sub, but she was old (we’re talking 14 years old with 199,000 miles) and falling apart.  In fact, most people would offer to drive in fear of their life in my car.  Sad, but true.  So, last night I said good bye to her and hello to my 2009 Mazda CX-7.  So, Starbucks may not have been that big of a step in adulthood (especially since I have been a Starbucks girl for years), but this upgrade most certainly is.  Two of my favorite features would have to be heated seats (so wonderful and cozy when living in MN) and a moon roof (I know, it is like I am 16 – but that was one thing that was a must have…little ridiculous, sure – but when we are making this big of an investment, you need to get what you really want…it’s not like I am getting a new one next season).

B with the new car...

There she is...

Oh, and this was fun – I think work heard about all my fun new toys, so they decided to join in on the party.  I got my new computer today and now I find out they are giving me more new stuff to try out.  That is always fun to get to be the guinea pig at work for toys.  Makes the job easier and more enjoyable.  So, needless to say, today is a day where I am pretty smily – not that things give me satisfaction, but they do add a little pep to my step 🙂

What are you enjoying about this wonderful midweek?  Also, I am taking name suggestions for the car – so please give me any you may have!  Thanks, lovies!

Much love,

B
