Half Speed…

Meet Jeremy Larson.  He is an extremely talented man who writes music beautifully.  He does  music composition and production – a lot of which are stiring arrangements.  They are so beautiful.  He knows how to work with stirngs so well – which is why I love this song, and really the whole album which you can stream here.  I discovered Jeremy through his new beautiful wife Elsie – who is one of my favorite bloggers.  Sit back and enjoy the music and let it calm you for a few moments amongst the stress and business of work – or even if you are on vacation (like me) sit back and let it aid in the relaxation.

Much love,

B

Eastern Coastal Style…

Whether you are on the Northeast or Southeast coast there is one trend you cannot avoid.  Sperry Topsiders.  It used to be just the classic boat shoe, but they have so many more looks now.  I first caved (it was bound to happen when I was living in South Carolina every summer) five years ago.  They were trendy then – but goodness they have blown up.  People in the Midwest are even wearing this coastal look.  There are so many cute styles – the only problem now is which pair to get next.  They are the perfect summer shoe for guys or gals – you don’t have to wear socks, good support, don’t slip on the dock, can be casual or dressy – and can cater to the uber preppy and still work for the more hip trendy look at the same time because it is all in what you pair them with.  I personally love wearing my boat shoes with sundresses – something about the pairing I simply adore.  Maybe it is my inner southern belle trying to shine through a bit…y’all know what I mean!

Have you jumped on board with the boat shoe trend?  Did you (or would you) go with the more classic look or a sandal look?  Are they a fashion statement or practical in your life (like you actually wear them while boating)?

Much love,

B

Design Crush…

The designer in the middle paired with some of her models dressed in her gorgeous designs.  Her name?  Lisa Ho.  Where is this lovely creative lady from?  I feel like you should already know this…Australia of course.  I still do not know what it is about that place – but I am loving everything I am seeing come out of that country (or I guess we could say continent, as I do tend to love designers from New Zealand, too…).  She stays true to herself in her designs – and it is that signature style that has made her famous in Australia, and now getting her international recognition.  “Lisa Ho believes that beautiful design should be available to all women and should enhance their increasingly busy lives.” from Lisa’s website.  I love the way that is so simply put – because that is exactly why I have fallen in love with her designs.

Aren’t her designs gorgeous?  What is your favorite look?  Are you loving Australian fashion, too?

Much love,

B

Still Blushing…

I have been loving the soft blush pink for awhile now.  It was a great way to warm up the bitter cold months, but not it pairs so well with summer trends.  It makes me so happy to be able to keep working it into my looks for summer.  It has such a soft, feminine look that is captivating.  I seriously am drawn to it every where I go.  If it is not something black, it is blush pink these days for me – what can I say – a girl feels pretty in pink.

How do you feel about blush pink?  Still have you blushing?  If not this color, what color is doing it for you?

Much love,

B

Leaving on a Jet Plane…

Well, my loves, it is that time again.  I am off to the airport to start some more adventures.  I love flying – I love when the plane is above the clouds it is always sunny up there and perfect no matter what the day is like down on the ground.  Today, I will fly into Charleston, SC and go spend the week with some of my favorite people who are family to me in sunny South Carolina.  Then I will fly back to MN for a brief twelve hour stay before I head back to the airport for some more jet setting fun.  Needless to say, the next week and a half is going to be a sweet break from the normal daily life.  I will still have blog posts coming, but my internet will be limited so I am sorry in advance if I don’t make it over to check out your blogs right away – but I will stop by when I get a chance.  It’s just – I will be at the beach, so I need to soak up the sun and the ocean while I can.  I really think the ocean may be one of my favorite places in the world – I love standing there and seeing how small I really am.

Have a wonderful weekend, friends!  Hope you are able to get outside and enjoy some of your favorite parts of summer!  What are you up to this weekend?

Much love,

B

Misunderstood Words…

Funny, interesting, thought provoking.  Do you ever find yourself misusing a word because you thought it meant something else? Don’t think about it too hard…go rest and play…but still food for thought.

Happy Friday, loves!

Much love,

B

Five Loves…

Sunrises on the South Carolina coast – and getting to walk under the pier with my toes in the sand.

Strolls in Historical Charleston, South Carolina with dear friends.

Five cent coffee at Sam’s Corner in Garden City, South Carolina.

Running and frolicking on the beach.

Hot, hot, hott summer days and nights.

Can you sense a theme?!  Basically I LOVE South Carolina in the summertime and I couldn’t be more thrilled to spend the next six days back in what I used to call my summertime home.

Do you have a favorite place to keep going back to visit?  What draws you in?

Much love,

B

Life at the Beach…

Vacation time is quickly approaching – meaning it is time for me to pack up and go enjoy some life at the beach.  I am so excited for the carefree days ahead.  I am ready to frolic and dance on the beach, lay in the sun and get a little sunkissed.  How can one not love the beach?  There is a beauty that captivates me and allows me to rest.  Now, the only thing in between me and this inner peace – my empty suitcase that needs to be packed.  So, what did I do you might ask?!  I went over to Polyvore (I could spend for hours on this site) and played to create a little packing inspiration board for myself.  This is how it turned out…

It has all the essentials I need – my floppy sun hat, a long maxi dress, light cardigan to wear at night when walking along the beach, tall wedges, and some great swimsuits.  Now…to go find those things in my closet and start packing…

How do you motivate yourself to pack?  Are you a planner when it comes to packing?  Or more the last minute throw whatever fits into the suitcase kinda person?

Much love,

B

Vision the Kid…

Do you ever look around your office and wonder what people are like after the clock strikes 5pm?  I am one to wonder about things like that naturally, but after I found out that one of the guys from work is better known as Vision the Kid and a great local hip-hop artist, my mind started wondering off even more.  Who would have thought that this guy dressed in gray slacks and argyle and keeps to himself is an up and coming hip-hop artist?!  Not me – but so thankful to be shown I was wrong.  This is a great midweek work break and I didn’t even have to go far to find it.  Hope you enjoy – if you are in Minneapolis go see him live – and if you are somewhere else go check out his EP.
